Adam Kreiser, beloved husband of Ella Kreiser of Killaly passed away peacefully with family by his side on February 2, 2011 at the age of 91 years.

Adam was the oldest of eleven children born to Lorenz and Theresa (nee Hoffman) Kreiser. He was born December 22, 1919 on the Kreiser homestead in the Grayson district, in the home his grandfather built. Adam attended Flegel School where he finished part of his grade six, walking to school in the summer and going by horse and sleigh in the winter. He suffered from pneumonia as a teenager which contributed to his health conditions later in life. Adam married the love of his life, Ella Leik, on October 8, 1946 and they made their first home just south of the Kreiser homestead where they farmed two quarters of land. They were blessed with four loving children who helped with the farm work, which included creating huge piles from the stones they hand picked.In 1965 Adam started driving school bus and he faithfully drove bus until 1984. Driving was a huge part of his independence and he loved to take numerous drives to check crops or see the country side. At the age of 90 he was determined to maintain his license and persuaded his granddaughter to take him to Melville and walking with his cane he entered the motor license issuer and was able to renew his license. In the summer of 1982 the youngest son took over the farm and Adam and Ella moved into Killaly. Adam enjoyed going out to the farm and helping when he could. Although farming changed over the years, to Adam the greatest and most versatile invention was twine. Adam was well read and always kept up with current events. His thirst for knowledge knew no bounds; he was amazed with technology. He was heavily involved in various organizations such as the Flegel School Board, Killaly Recreation Board, Seniors Centre, St. Elizabeth’s Parish, Saskatchewan Wheat Pool, and the Killaly Co-op. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends and playing the odd game of solo. Adam possessed a phenomenal memory; he knew dates and events over all of his 91 years right up until his last day. Adam thoroughly enjoyed his six grandchildren and great- grandchild and loved to take time to visit with them. From driving to attend their various sports events, or music and dance recitals when his health allowed, to building a home-made waterslide, to playing hide and seek, he always remarked that he wanted to live long enough for his grandchildren to get to know him. Often you could find him helping Ella with baking cookies and straightening out her wool. They enjoyed spending time together and when Adam was in the hospital you could be sure to see Ella sitting patiently with him. They enjoyed a strong bond of love and friendship that spanned 64 years. Over the past twelve years, Adam frequented the hospital and he was very thankful for his ‘good neighbors’ who were always willing to help out. On February 2, 2011, Adam passed away peacefully with family by his side at the age of 91 years.

Adam was predeceased by his parents Lorenz and Theresa; brothers, John and William ; sisters, Elizabeth and Elliss; brothers-in-law, Adam Reiger, John Ottenbreit, Jake Gerhardt, Bill Paidel, Bill Leik, George Wihlidal and Kelly Leik; sisters-in-law, Elsie Rogalski, Dianne Stocker and Evelyn Wihlidal. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 64 years Ella (nee Leik); four children: John (Donna) Kreiser of Prince Albert, grandchildren Karen (Mike) Langlois, Jocelyn (Ron) Ferguson and great- grandson Casey; Pat (Kirk Gelinas) McInnis of Regina, grandchild Anthony Jerome; Terrence (Marian) Kreiser of Killaly, grandchildren Allyse, Adam and Nicole; Rachel Jarvis of Yorkton; brothers, Jack Kreiser and Larry (Debbie)Kreiser; sisters, Mary Reiger, Elsie Kreiser, Sister Theresa Kreiser and Violet (Ivor)Tank; sisters-in-law, Anita Gerhardt, Eugenia Ottenbreit, Christine Paidel, Shirley Lei and Marlene Leik; brothers-in-law, Vic Stoker and Edwin Rogalski; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
