Bruce was predeceased by his parents, John and Ethel Coleman; brother Wilfred in 1933, brother Horace in 1963, sister Marjorie in 1981, brother Ray in 2006, brother Cecil in 2016; brothers-in-law Gordon Burgess in 2006, Ross Innes in 2009, Edward Brown in 2010, Gordon Falk in 2010, Alden Berglund in 2016 and sister-in-law Elinore in 2015.

Bruce is survived by his sisters Edith (Berglund), Eileen (Innes), Corinne (Burgess) and Delores (Falk), brothers Wilbur and Blaine and sister-in-law Gladys Coleman, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Bruce spent part of his childhood living with his grandparents at Pambrum, south of Swift Current, where he started school; he came back home in 1941. In 1948 he worked for Patterson Elevator construction, and from there he worked with the PFRA in Alberta, drove a truck in Vancouver and came back to Saskatchewan and worked at Weston Bakeries for nine years. In 1964 Bruce went to Burns Lake, BC and had several jobs there. In 1965 he came back home to help on the family farm, where he remained until his passing.
