Dawn Rivait (née Simpson)
Dear Family,
It is with great sadness that I learned of Irene's passing this past week.
What a grand lady she was, always so welcoming to my Mother, Sarah Simpson (nee Tebbutt) and I ,on our annual trips home to Broadview to see my Grandmother Carolyn Tebbutt!
We would only have arrived and Irene would be calling to get a game of Bridge going as soon as my Mother was able. They both shared the love of the game!
I remember the many visits to our home in Toronto, that Archie and Irene would make when coming to pick up yet another school bus!
Their children Edith, Jean, Jimmy and Eddie, and Dale, do not remember Lynn visiting, but the rest all made trips east and visited us on numerous occasions.
So it is with our deepest sympathies that my husband Bernie and I pray for her dear soul and for those Irene has left behind.
In our family, she was the last remaining of that generation.
We made the trip to Broadview shortly after her 100 th, 3.5 yrs ago just to visit Irene. We were amazed at her good health and stamina. We were planning on next Sept to visit again. I remember she still had a picture of my dear Mother (her sister in law (sort of) on her dresser.
A dear soul, may she rest in peace and may her family cherish the many great times shared together as one family unit.
With much love, and sympathy,
Your 1st cousin,
Dawn
