Obituary for
Jimmy "Jim" Wruck
It is with great sadness that the family of Jimmy Wruck announces his passing at St. Peter’s Hospital in Melville, SK on Saturday, October 3, 2015, at the age of 68 years.
Jimmy was born in Winkler, MB on June 9, 1947, to Fred and Hattie (nee Hohertz) Wruck and grew up on a farm three miles north of Manitou, MB. He worked on the oil fields in the Yukon and in Drayton Valley, AB, then moved to Edmonton and drove for Barrel Taxi. On June 9, 1984, he married Sandra Puffalt. The couple later moved to La Rivière, MB where he worked at a ski resort (Holiday Mountain) and then decided to try his luck at truck driving.
Jimmy and Sandra drove as a team running for Day & Ross until his second heart attack, at which time he lost his Class 1 license, forcing him to retire. In the meantime they had moved to Matlock, MB. After his fourth heart attack, he decided to move his wife to Neudorf, SK to be closer to his family.
Jimmy’s biggest enjoyment was singing, writing songs and playing his guitar. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing.
Jimmy was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by all he leaves to mourn: his loving wife Sandra; his three children, son Jim Jr. (Katy) Wruck and daughters Julie (Marc) Baker and Jody Wiesner; his mother Hattie (Wruck) Lavallée; his three sisters Bonnie (Lorence) Gundrum, Shirley (Ross) Thompson and Carol Cornborough (partner Brian Kozody); his brother Bill Wruck; his grandchildren Vennisha Czech, Terry Wruck, Jaylene Baker, Bruce Baker, Lizzie Wiesner, Jacob Wiesner and one great-grandchild, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one daughter Jolene (in infancy) and his father Fred Wruck.
