Alvena Ulmer, late of Neudorf, passed away Friday, July 21, 2006 at the age of 81 years. Alvena Alma was born November 27,1924 in the Lemberg area to Henry and Caroline (nee Schweitzer) Geres. Alvena was baptized and confirmed by Rev. Kroeger. Alvena was married to Bill Ulmer on December 22, 1944 by Rev. Kroeger at Lemberg. Their marriage was blessed with four children: Leonard, Caroline, Garry, and Terry. They moved to their home farm north west of Neudorf where they began their mixed farming career. Alvena's interests included enjoying her seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, crocheting, crosswords, quilting, jigsaw puzzles, bingo and her coffee shop pals. She will be missed by all her family, neighbours and friends. She passed away peacefully in the early hours of July 21after a battle with cancer. She lived life to the fullest. Alvena was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Caroline (nee Schweitzer) Geres; her husband, William; an infant daughter, Caroline; two sisters, Ruth (Fred) Reitenbach and Alfreda Geres; and two brothers, Carl and Fred Geres. She leaves to cherish her memory: three boys, Leonard (Carol) of Drayton Valley, AB, Garry (Penny) of Neudorf, SK and Terry (Veronica) of Esterhazy, SK; seven grandchildren, Candice (Duane)Krip, Ryan (Jill) Ulmer, Travis (Brenda) Ulmer, Leah Ulmer (Ivan Wurts), Michelle (Brian) Spilchen, Marianne Ulmer (Jason Lesmeister) and Stacey Ulmer; eight great-grandchildren, Steven and Dylan Kripp, Koden Ulmer, Dakota Ulmer, Cole, Kyle and Tori Ulmer, and Brandon Spilchen; two sisters, Mary Ulmer and Louise Rathgeber; one brother, Alfred (Doretta) Geres; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
