Wilfred was born in the Whitewood area to Raphel and Annie (nee Rathay) Urzada. He spent most of his time helping Archie on the family farm until moving to Whitewood with Annie in the 1990s. Wilfred was a hard worker and enjoyed gardening, with a love for tomatoes. He enjoyed farming and making wine. After the passing of his mother, Annie, Wilfred struggled with his mental health and moved to the Orange Home in Broadview. When his health declined and required more care, he moved to Broadview Centennial Lodge for his final years. Wilfred passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 30, 2023, at Broadview Centennial Lodge.
Wilfred was predeceased by his parents, Raphel and Annie Urzada; his sister, Elsie Churi of Kipling, SK; and brother Archie Urzada of Esterhazy, SK. He leaves to mourn: his sister, Ruby Duke of Whitewood; nephew Dan Duke; along with many nieces and nephews.
There will be a graveside interment service on May 12, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. at the New Finland Cemetery for anyone who wishes to attend. Special thank you to staff at the Broadview Centennial Lodge who took care of Wilfred in his final years.
