Vivian Gail Niebergall passed away Friday, April 21, 2023, at St. Peter’s Hospital, Melville, SK. She was 67 years of age.

Vivian was born at Grenfell, SK, on August 25, 1955, to Gertrude and John Wonko, growing up in a family of six older siblings. She graduated from Grenfell High School, then worked with the Highway Traffic Board in Regina, SK. She met Monty Niebergall in Regina, and they were married August 8, 1981. Vivian moved to Neudorf to join Monty and they built a new house on the Niebergall Family Homestead. Their daughter, Sarah, was born in 1985. Vivian loved being on the farm, being a homemaker and farmer’s wife, gardening to provide homegrown foods for the family from one growing season to the next, cooking (she made great cabbage rolls) and going for walks with the farm dogs. She worked briefly at the Neudorf Library.

Vivian was a woman of strong Christian faith, baptized and confirmed by her own choice on August 5, 2005. She was involved in Christ Lutheran Church, Neudorf, participating in church services in various ways - reading scripture, serving as usher, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday school, and she loved to volunteer for any meals or functions. She found great enjoyment in the Christ Lutheran women’s group, travelling to conferences and retreats and participating in bible study.

Vivian loved family gatherings, being with others and visiting. She had a smile that could light up a room. She always made the time to stop for a coffee and a visit, although she preferred iced tea if she had the choice. Vivian loved collecting books, magazines and pottery. In her younger years, she loved to travel.

Vivian’s greatest pride was her grandkids. She loved the many pictures of them that she collected and their stories; she couldn’t wait to share what they were doing with others. In her later years, Vivian loved simple outings, going for dinner (often at KFC) and a stop at the casino for a little fun.

Vivian was predeceased by her parents, Gertrude and John Wonko; mother- and father-in-law William and Caroline (Lena) Niebergall; siblings Alice (Wilson) Scott, Dorothy Wolfe, Donald (Ruth) Irvine; brothers-in-law Joe Ruzicka, Gunter Kocks and Ron Mohr; and granddaughter Jorja Bomberak. She is survived by her husband, Monty; daughter Sarah (Logan); grandchildren Mahlyn, Sawyer and Stetsyn Bomberak; sisters Audrey and Eleanor; brother Howard; sister-in-law Judith; brother-in-law Fred; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of St. Peter’s Hospital, Melvillle for the care extended to Vivian while in their care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Christ Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, Neudorf

A graveside celebration of Vivian’s life will take place at later date.
