We are heartbroken to announce the death of our father, Charles Garry Houston. He passed away peacefully at the age of 74 years, surrounded by family.

Garry was born on October 12, 1948, in Chatham, Ontario. He moved to Regina in 1967 to attend the RCMP Depot and then moved to Melville as his first posting. After moving around the province of Saskatchewan, he relocated his family back to Melville to open a confectionary store. He then moved on to be an owner and real estate broker for Century 21 until he retired.

Our dad enjoyed reading, gardening (especially tending to his rose bushes), bowling through the winter months and walking his dog Echo, no matter the weather! However, his first love was golfing with his buddies, Eddie P., Denny Alberts, Glenn Miller and Merv Appel. And he seemed to be getting better with age, having just landed his first hole-in-one this past summer.

Garry leaves behind Grace Houston, his wife of 39 years and his friend for more than 50; his daughter, Bonnie Blakley (husband Jim Rhode) and son Jason Houston (wife Michelle Houston); stepdaughter Tara Lodewyk (husband Shane Lodewyk); grandchildren: JD Blakley (wife Jasmine Yakubowski), Morgan Rhode (husband Matt Sponiar), Kelsey Rhode (David Miguez), Addison Swales, Evan Rhode (Claudia Castillo), Collin Blakley (Kim Locke), Nicholas Houston (Jaran Song), Garrett Houston, Hunter Blakley, Nathan Houston, Harrison Lodewyk and Sylvia Lodewyk; great- grandson Maverick Blakley; his companion and friend for the past ten years, Bernadette Senft; brothers Tom Houston (wife Nancy Houston) and Paul Houston (wife Sharon Houston); brother-in-law Harv Whittmire (wife Deb Whittmire); and many nieces and nephews.
