It is with heavy hearts the family of Patricia Criddle (nee Craig) sadly announces her passing onThursday, January 5, 2023, at the age of 79 years after a lengthy and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Pat leaves to mourn: her three children, Craig, Terrilee (Derick) and Jamie (Leon); her fourteen grandchildren, Holly (Marcus), Haley (Peter), Heather (Aranya), Jenny, Justin (Lauren), Pretti, Cassitee (Jen), Kelbree (Greg), Taiten, Traeshal, Brooke, Darian (Alex), Jaeleon (Hunter) and Taryn; her eighteen great-grandchildren, Keysean, Kennedy, Landon, Kakisheway, Katarina, Nevaeh, Avyan, Leo, Kalea, Kingsley, Kyland, Kelbree, Draeden, Emma, Alivia, Shae, Ivor and Rhett; her siblings, Carol Warren and Bill (Lu Ann)Craig; sister-in-law Cheryl (Jack); brothers-in-law Sid (Dawn), Kevin and Eric (Bev); and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 59 years, Milton, who left her side a short 34 days before her; her parents, Jack and Annie Craig (nee Wharry); her brother-in-law, Jim Warren; sister-in-law Lynn and her husband Bill DeGrow; and her grandson, Icetin.
Pat was born on August 20, 1943, to Jack and Annie Craig (nee Wharry) in Broadview, SK. She met the love of her life, Milton Criddle, in Regina, and they were married a year later on August 31,1963. They lived briefly in Regina and Saskatoon but returned to their roots in Broadview, SK, to raise their family. Pat and Milt owned a cabin at Sunset Beach from early on in their marriage, which soon became a beloved place to spend time with their family all year long. In 1983 they decided to bring in a house and move there permanently. Pat loved her home nestled up in the hills with a view of the lake. It was a home that she filled with love and great memories.
Pat’s love of her family was first and foremost, and they meant the world to her. She also loved her animals and could always be found with a loyal pet at her side.
Pat was her children's and grandchildren's biggest fan, and you could always find her at the rink watching a hockey game or figure skating or at the gym watching volleyball. She was loud and proud, and everyone knew when she was in the stands. Bowling, birdwatching and tending to her flower gardens were a few of her favourite pastimes. Pat also loved to dance, enjoying Saturday evenings at the Valley Social Club dancing the night away with Milt. Some of her favourite memories were spending time with her family or large group of friends sitting around one of their famous bonfires. Pat’s quick wit and sense of humour were her trademarks, but her compassion and love that she shared without limitations will be missed the most by all who knew her.
The interment of her ashes, along with her husband’s, will take place at Cotham Church and a celebration of their lives on July 2, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., followed by a gathering to share memories at their Sunset Beach home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cotham Church Restoration Fund. We are very grateful for the compassionate care and kindness provided by St. Paul Lutheran Home in Melville, SK.
