James John Taschuk passed away peacefully on Friday, December 23, 2022, at St. Peter's Hospital. He was 70 yars of age. James was born July 25, 1952, to Irene and John Taschuk of Melville, SK. He was the oldest of five siblings.

Jim hired onto the CN at 18 years of age and rode the rails until he retired in 2007 at the age of 55 years. In retirement, he enjoyed road trips, holidays and adventures with friends and family. Jim preferred being outdoors and loved hunting, fishing, camping and the cabin at McBride Lake. Friends were important to him and a favourite pastime was cutting wood with the “Birch Boys”. With a long-time friend from Saskatoon, Jim helped cull the gopher population during the summer months. One of Dad’s sayings was “Life is Good”, and where possible, he took every opportunity to enjoy it.

Jim will be missed by his wife of 47 years, Jacqueline; daughter Kimberly; his sons, Ian (Kristin) and Robert; and grandchildren Stella, Hank and Ruby. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Irene Taschuk and is survived by Joan (John) Chesney, Ron (Brenda), Cathy (Kevin) Bell and Mike, nieces, nephews and relatives.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Kidney Foundation.
