It is with great sadness that the family of Carole Joan Leggott announces her peaceful passing in Melville, SK, on Saturday, October 15, 2022, surrounded by family; she was 79 years of age.

Carole was born on December 22, 1942, in Regina, SK. She was predeceased by her husband, John; her parents, John (Jack) and Lucia Holliday; her grandparents, Phillip and Ruby Bellamy, George Holliday and Sarah Jane Baillie of Glasgow, Scotland; and various other relatives, including Donavon Bellamy, who meant so much to Carole.

Carole is survived by her brother, Dean; her children, Donovan, Tammy, Shawn, and their families. Mom had eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She loved and adored her grandchildren, and all are going to miss her very much.

Carole was a talented artist, and when she graduated from high school, she went to California to visit an uncle. He introduced her to Walt Disney, who offered her a job. Instead, she chose to come back home and became a legal stenographer. She later met her husband-to-be, John Leggott; they married on October 10, 1969, and resided in Melville ever since.

Many will remember mom as someone who was a giver, compassionate, a caretaker of others, and certainly a lover of animals. We all know mom could never say no to rescuing the local cat or dog that might need a loving home. Mom will always be remembered for her endless projects, her creativity, always doing something for Sunday schools, youth groups, her children’s activities, and lending a hand or a sympathetic ear whenever called upon. Later in years, Mom began to decorate cakes, and so many people in Melville had one of those cakes at one time or another.

Mom’s faith in God gave her the strength to accomplish anything, the knowledge to do it for the right reason and the fuel to keep going forever.

Your life is a testament to us all, Mom; you will be remembered and be deep within our hearts forever.
The family would like to thank Melville St. Paul Lutheran Home for the care and compassion that was provided during her stay there.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local SPCA.
