It is with great sadness the family of Lorrie (Hack) McKay announces her sudden passing on July 23, 2022, at the age of 51 years.

Lorrie was born on June 3, 1971, at St. Peter’s Hospital in Melville, to Vern and Dorothy Hack. She was raised on the family farm west of Melville and attended Duff Elementary and later Melville Jr. and Senior Schools. Upon graduation, Lorrie moved to Melville. She worked as a live-in nanny for a couple of years, waitress, assembly line worker, and a clerk at Home Hardware.

Lorrie had the love for children. She spent lots of time with her nieces and nephews before having children of her own. Her hobbies included gardening, knitting, baking and board games.

Lorrie first met the love of her life, Wally McKay, in elementary school and later reconnected at a social outing. Lorrie and Wally were blessed with three children: Elijah (2003), Noah (2004) and Elisabeth (2005). Lorrie and Wally got married on September 5, 2015, in Melville.

Lorrie was predeceased by her mother, Dorothy, grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins. She is survived by her husband, Wally; children Elijah, Noah and Elisabeth (Nathan); father Vern Hack; siblings Janet (Perry) Yelle, Leonard (Donna) Hack, Leeann (Grant) Hitchens, Colleen (Mike) Hitchens and Corinne Lesperance (Jody); mother-in-law Barb (Paul) Ward; sisters-in-law Carrie (Tim) Williams, Melanie Delorme (Alfred) and Robyn Yuzicappi; and numerous extended family members.

Memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of choice.
