Raymond Reinheimer went peacefully to his heavenly home on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at the age of 87 years.

The oldest of seven children, Ray was born May 24, 1935, to Louis and Mary Reinheimer. He spent his life in the Fenwood area where he farmed, ran a garage, raised his three children and made many happy memories with his six grandchildren. Ray was dedicated to family and loved walking, farming, going for crop tours, attending auction sales, and enjoying the outdoors.

Dad raised his family to love the Lord and take care of those around them. He loved farming from a young age, when he helped Grandpa on his home farm, and continued to farm even after he retired, helping his son, Brent. Even until last fall, Dad could be found in the combine until late at night because he “could still see swaths in the field”.

Dad enjoyed travelling with his family, even learning to overcome his fear of flying by going to places like Florida, Hawaii, and to Washington State to visit Linette’s family well into his 80s. Dad taught us the value of love, hard work, honesty, kindness and perseverance in the face of adversity. He prayed for his family every day. Even when he was in the hospital, he wanted to make sure that we were safe as we travelled to our homes each night.

Dad had a great sense of humour and had many crazy stories to share about adventures with Donald and other siblings. He made memories with his grandchildren skipping rocks on the slough, giving rides on the tractors and trike around the farm, and waving from the kitchen window as we drove away. Dad also had a sweet tooth (which he may have inherited from Grandma) best satisfied, as he taught his grandchildren, with ice cream after a buffet to “fill in the cracks”. He always stocked his freezer with ice cream sandwiches, his cupboard with cookies, and his pocket with candies to hand out in church whenever his grandchildren visited, all shared with a twinkle in his eye.

We were so blessed to have a Dad who exemplified strength, faithfulness, selflessness, unconditional love and a gentle heart. Dad will be missed, but we are grateful for the life we had with him and every moment we spent together.

Dad follows his father, Louis (1996), his mother, Mary (2014), his brother, Wayne (1988), and his sisters-in-law, Caroline (1999) and Alma (2015), to their home in heaven. He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Linette (Warren), Rochelle (Marlon) and Brent (Karen); grandchildren Ryan, Alan; Kyle, Raylin (Isaac), Sam; and Klark; siblings Donald, Janice, Elaine (Dale), Vern (Karen), Delroy (Sylvia); and many nieces and nephews.
