Amanda Barr passed away Saturday, March 20, 2022, at her home in Melville, Saskatchewan. She was 43 years old.

Amanda Lee was born May 20, 1978, in Murrayville, British Columbia, to Barry and Joan (nee Morton) Litzenberger. On April 1, 1982, Amanda and her dad moved to Neudorf, Saskatchewan, bringing joy to her Great-Grandpa and -Grandma Ulmer. Amanda attended Neudorf Elementary School and Lemberg High School, graduating in 1996. She was active in sports, including skating, softball, swimming, volleyball and music. She had a great love of animals, looking after her dogs, cats, budgie birds and fish. Amanda loved to go to her uncle’s/aunt’s and friends’ farms to see the farm animals and wildlife animals – but those had to still be alive and not hunted by her dad! She had many babysitting jobs and worked at the local grocery store during high school, while still maintaining high academics. After high school, Amanda attended the University of Regina for two years.

On July 31, 1999, Amanda married Shane Barr. Residing in Melville, together they welcomed three boys: Jaiden, born September 5, 2001; Branden, born November 13, 2003; and Austin, born December 21, 2006. They were her absolute pride and joy.

Amanda worked at St. Paul Lutheran Home for 20 years. She loved helping people in need and always had a heart of gold for the seniors there - and they adored her. She also enjoyed entertaining and planning get-togethers with family and friends, just like her Grandma Litzenberger, inviting those who didn’t have anywhere to go (Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc). Amanda was amazing at interior decorating, and she decorated every house she lived in. At times she thought that she would have rather done that for a living, as she just had such a knack for it. Family and friends would often come to her for advice or to help with decisions for their homes.

Amanda was predeceased by her mother, Joan Morton; her father-in-law, Cliff Barr; grandparents Herbert and Elsie Litzenberger, John and Rose Morton, and John and Martha Wirth; and great-grandparents Louie and Frieda Ulmer.

Left to cherish her memory are: Shane Barr; her sons, Jaiden Barr, Branden Barr and Austin Barr; her dad, Barry Litzenberger; stepmother Donna Westerhaug; mother-in-law Darlene Barr; her brothers, Michael (Jennifer) Litzenberger and their children, Charlie and Addy; Mathew Litzenberger (Sabrina Ferguson); her sister-in-law, Shauna (Charles) Bassingthwaite and their children, Kody, Brooke and Karter; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
