It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Randy Hornung of Crooked Lake, SK. Randy passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at St. Peter’s Hospital, Melville, SK, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Randy was born to John and Mary Hornung on April 27, 1953. He grew up in and attended school at Grayson, SK, before completing high school at St. Peter’s College in Muenster, SK. Randy attended Pultz Aviation in Saskatoon, SK, to become a commercial pilot. After his father became ill, he returned to Grayson to take over Hornung Farm Supply with his brother Arnold. When the business closed its doors in 1991, Randy went on to attain his Certified Financial Planner designation and worked with Investors Group in the area until his retirement in 2020.

In 1989 Randy married Marilee (nee McDermott) and built a life together with their two sons, Alex and Nicholas. As a family, they enjoyed skiing, golfing, travelling and keeping up with the boys’ activities. Randy loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, living at Crooked Lake and spending time at Eagle Lake. He loved being around people and could always be found with a warm smile and his contagious laugh.

Randy was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Marilee, and sons Alex and Nicholas; sister Audrey Hoffman; brothers Jerry (Joan) Hornung, Arnold (Elaine) Hornung and Richard (Sharon) Hornung; sister-in-law Kathryn (Jon) Edmondson and their families.
