Lillian Issel passed away peacefully at St. Paul Lutheran Home on Monday, November 30, 2020, at the age of 84 years. She was born on May 22, 1936, in Fenwood, SK, to John and Eleanore Hollinger. Lillian met Philip in 1954, and in July of 1956, they were married in Zion Lutheran Church, Fenwood. This marriage of 55 years was blessed with four children.
Lillian’s faith was very important to her. She looked forward to going to church every Sunday, and she was a member of the church choir for many years.
Gardening was Lill’s pride and joy. Every year she would put in a large vegetable garden with plenty of flowers, of which gladiolus and lilies were her favourite. She worked hard on the farm, always helping out with whatever was going on. She was always very busy.
In her earlier years, she enjoyed crocheting, sewing and playing the organ. She was a good homemaker, very particular in everything she did, from cleaning the house to how the ironing had to be done. Her homemade bread, buns, doughnuts, cakes and cookies were the best, which her grandchildren all enjoyed! Lillian will always be remembered by her children, Caroline Skorobohach, Milton (Suzanne) Issel, Valerie (Ron) Crandlemire and Winston (Sheri) Issel; her sister, Margaret Hamp; her brothers, Leslie (Marion) Hollinger, Charlie (Audrey) Hollinger, Wally (Marie) Hollinger, Clarence (Marlene) Hollinger and Art (Val) Hollinger; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
