Edward “Ed” Frick passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2020, at St. Peter’s Hospital, Melville. He was 98 years of age.

Edward was born into a family of three boys and eight girls to John and Maria (nee Schmidt) Frick on April 25, 1922, and is survived by his sisters, Elsie (Carl) Hollinger and Edna (Alec) Figgitt.

Edward was always a farmer at heart and began farming at the age of 12 on his parents’ farm in the Fenwood/Duff area until he met and married Florence Schick on November 10, 1948. He carried on farming on his own farm with Florence at his side until they retired to Melville in 2001. Together they had five children, seven grandchildren and five 5 great-grandchildren. Ed’s heart continued to be involved in the family farm until the day he died.

Edward was predeceased by his wife, Florence Frick, on March 19, 2005; he leaves to cherish his memory: daughter Kathy and Ken Piasta of Regina; son Lyle and Kathy Frick of Peachland, BC, along with their children and grandchildren, Jason, Jodi (Justin) and daughter Lily, and Jillian (Nick) and daughter Isla; son Blair and Laurie Frick of Melville, along with their children and grandchildren, Jordan (Brittany) and Rebecca (Clint) and their daughters, Madelyn and Annabelle; daughter Carmon Frick and Allan Wilson of Winfield, AB, and her son, Tiz (Courtney) and their son Mateo; and daughter Margo Frick and JJ Handel of Redwater, AB, and their son, Jascha.

My sincere condolences to the entire Frick family. Ed was such a gentle man. I enjoyed so much random visits with him over the years. I remember admiring him in my jr high years as a loving, gentle father to Margo and his dedication to get Margo to the curling rink. He was a treasure and I know you all will miss him very much.❤️ Cheryl Mikolas (Carlson)

With Love & Great Memories as we remember Ed. Our condolences to the entire Frick Family. May we all treasure the memories forever. While visiting my Mom at the hospital on July 5th and having run into Ed in the hallway, we ended up talking and visiting for hours that day.....brought back so many good memories. Rest in Peace, dearly beloved Ed Frick.........Colleen & Blair Ulmer & Family
