Barbara Ann Gervais (Buckland) of Yorkton, SK, went home to be with Jesus on Monday, February 3, 2020, at the age of 68 years.

Barb was born on May 1, 1951, in Etobicoke, ON, and adopted at birth by Margaret and Rayburn Buckland. She was raised in New Liskeard, ON, alongside her brother, Warren Buckland.

Barb met her husband, Raymond Louis Gervais, in 1969 at the shoe store where she worked while selling him a pair of boots. Barb was a beautiful English-speaking woman, and Raymond spoke primarily French, but that did not stop them from choosing to spend their lives together. They married October 3, 1970, and went on to have two children, Jocelyne Christina Gervais (1973) and Josee Maria Gervais (1976).

In 1976 Barb and Ray moved from New Liskeard, ON, to Red Cliffe, AB. It was there that Barb met Jesus and became a Christian. In addition to helping to support Ray in his construction business, Barb spent much of her time reaching out to the women of her community sharing Christ, facilitating bible studies and attending Women’s Aglow meetings. Many women were brought to the Lord because of Barb’s evangelistic efforts.

In 1983 Ray and Barb moved their family one province over to Penticton, BC. In 1997, Ray and Barb decided to move to the prairies, settling down just outside Yorkton, SK, returning to Ray’s first love, farming.

In addition to being a dedicated, loving mother and wife, Barb also loved doing ceramics (in her younger years), decorating, gardening, tending to her flowerbeds and watching the birds in her yard. Most of all, Barb loved to raise her voice in worship of her Lord.

Barbara joins her father, Rayburn Buckland, in Heaven. She is survived by her husband, Raymond Gervais; her mother, Margaret Buckland; brother Warren Buckland; and daughters Jocelyne Hallett (grandchildren Micha and Jeremiah Hallett) and Josee Siwale (grandson Zion Siwale).

Barb will always be fondly remembered for her charismatic warmth and beauty which radiated to
anyone who came in touch with her.
