William Lang passed away at St. Paul Lutheran Home on Friday, June 28, 2019, at the age of 84 years.

William was born on November 8, 1934, to Anton and Appolonia Lang in the Killaly district. He took over the family farm from his mother in 1963, and on June 11 that same year, he married Jeanette Hain. They resided on the farm until December 1991 when they moved to Waldron. In October 1996, they moved to Melville. William became a resident at St. Paul Lutheran Home in 2014.

While on the farm, William drove school bus from 1967 to 1982, and he was an active member of the community of Waldron. He was a school board member from 1970 to 1982 and was active in the Lions club as well as the curling club. William also started and coached the young girls’ ball team where his daughters played. He worked at various other jobs when he quit farming but enjoyed working for Bunny Halyk until he retired.

William enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, curling and playing cards. His favourite time was spent with his family.

William was predeceased by his parents, Anton and Appolonia; his wife, Jeanette; four sisters, Anna (Henry), Rosie (Peter), Mary (John) and Eda (Adolph); and three brothers, Frank (Anne), Kasper and Martin (Katie). He leaves to cherish his memory: two sons, Doug and his children, Trevor and Robyn, and Gary; two daughters, Laverne (Ralph) Rathgeber and Karen (Murray) Slack and their children, Jesse (Maria) and Arron; sister-in-law Shirley Mountney, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
