Obituary for Ivan Gurski
Ivan Gurski passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at the age of 87 years.
Ivan was born on March 9, 1932, to John and Mary (Braun) Gurski at Balcarres. He married Marg Onrait on June 9, 1955. In the early years of their marriage, Ivan hauled fuel for BA Oil in Balcarres, Carlyle and Weyburn. In 1959 they moved to Fort Qu’Appelle to operate a restaurant and gas bar, and in 1960 they moved to the Weber farm, where he began his passion in a mixed farming operation and raising his family of which he was very proud.
Ivan was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary Gurski; his loving wife, Marg; sisters Lorraine (Arnold) and Irene (Tommy); father- and mother-in-law Joe and Agnes Onrait and brother-in-law Stuart Onrait.
Ivan will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his daughter, Tammy (Tony) Novak, and their son, Mike Rokosh; his son, Tim (Diane), and their family: Renay (Trent) Kelemen and their sons, Zandan and Tayvin; Ashley (Jeff) Ouellette and their sons, Miles and Eric; and Christina Gurski (Luke Levesque), as well as numerous relatives.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Balcarres Lions Club or Saskatchewan Lung Association as tokens of remembrance.
