Obituary for Kenneth Gilbert Bell

Kenneth Gilbert (Ken) Bell passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2019, at 2:20 p.m. after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic and appendix cancer. Predeceased by his father, Henry, he leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Kay; his mother, Clara; his daughter, Katie Deobald, her husband, Andrew, and children Arthur, Rooke and Wren; his brothers, Allan, David, Norman and Murray, and their families; his stepchildren, Nathan, Raegan, Kalem and Jordan, and their families; and numerous friends and relations including Ted, Tim, Paul, Ken, Brian, Sharon and Scott, and so many more too numerous to mention.

Ken was passionate about his life and refused to accept that he would be defeated by a foe such as cancer. His love of humour, music, communication, audio, electronics and the special people in his life gave him the strength and courage to wage a very challenging and painful battle...but right to the end, he insisted his pain level was only a two or three.

The last week of Ken’s life was spent in the hospital in Broadview, and words cannot begin to describe the love, compassion and care he received from his physician, Doctor Abarrin, and the nurses at the hospital.

Ken will be sorely missed by those who loved and knew him and leaves an immense hole in the hearts of those who really knew him. To us, he will always be loved, cherished and valiant.

End of life services are provided by Matthews Funeral Home, Whitewood. Ken's Celebration of Life services will be planned for Broadview, Weyburn and Moose Jaw for close friends and family.

In Love and Memory;
“Cowards die many times before their deaths;
The valiant never taste of death but once.
Of all the wonders that I yet have heard,
It seems to me most strange that men should fear;
Seeing that death, a necessary end,
Will come when it will come.”
