The family of Kenneth Schick is saddened by his passing on Thursday, January 31, 2019.

Kenneth was born on September 15, 1933, the second child born to John and Annie (Baber) Schick of Lemberg. He grew up on the family farm, attended Garden School and then farmed until his retirement.

Kenneth loved his everyday job of farming and tried to improve it year by year. He spent 23 years with the love of his life, Mary McTaggart, in Lemberg.

Ken was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lemberg, opening the doors each day for anyone. He also was the secretary and caretaker of the Garden Cemetery for a number of years. Ken was a quiet man and would help anyone in need. He became ill in the past few months and passed away peacefully in the Yorkton hospital with family by his side.

Ken was predeceased by his father in 1948, his mother in 1988, two brothers-in-law, Norman Maurer and Ferdinand Hollinger, a sister-in-law, Charlene Schick, and a niece, Cheryl Maurer. He is survived by his partner, Mary McTaggart, and her four children; three brothers, Paul (Elaine) of Melfort; Calvin (Helen) of Edmonton; Elwood of Fort Qu’Appelle; two sisters, Marilyn Maurer of Neudorf; Verena Hollinger of Melville; and sixteen nieces and nephews.

My sincere condolences to Mary and her family as well as my dad Cal (Helen) Schick and all my Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
Uncle Ken was one of the kindest, soft spoken men that had the greatest laugh especially when he was laughing back at something I did that I wasn’t supposed to be doing. He taught me how to mow the lawn with his rideon Tractor which at the time was the fastest thing I had driven by myself, he would take me on rides out in the field and catch me in Grandmas garden patch eating all the peas and carrots.
Thank you for sharing your gentle nature, big heart and wisdom with me. I so wish we lived closer so you could have done that with my children. Being so far away is hard at times like this and I will send you special prayers up to the stars from here and thank you for being a part of my life.
Please give grandma a big hug for me up in heaven and find your self a very comfy rocking chair to watch over us from.
Love you, I wish I could have told you that more xx Kimberly Schick-Puddicombe
