Obituary for June Irene Yeadon (Goebel)

June Irene was born at the homestead south of Neudorf to Frederick and Philipina (nee Tressel) Goebel. She was baptized and confirmed by Pastor Eugene Bruhler at Zion Lutheran Church in the Neudorf district. After attending school in Neudorf, June helped on the family farm.

June was married to Arthur (Art) Yeadon on June 24, 1960, at Zion Lutheran Church; this union was blessed with the birth of four boys, Larry, Dale, Kenneth and Murray. June loved watching Arthur play ball for the Neudorf Wheat Kings. She was a partner in the family farm and spent many hours in the tractor working summer fallow, combining in harvest, and taking care of the farm animals.

June was proud of her community and participated in many community activities, including her favourite, the parades. She was caretaker at Neudorf school for nine years and then at Roadside Manor and Boyle Place for a further nine years.

June enjoyed gardening and being in the yard. She loved watching birds and especially the many hummingbirds in her backyard. June loved her German heritage and enjoyed helping organize the annual Zion Lutheran Church service. Music to her ears was to hear her children and grandchildren join together in German table grace. She was very artistic, funny, and loved to play games and cards.

June was predeceased by her parents, Frederick and Philipina Goebel, sister Winnifred Schmidt, brother-in-law Edward Schmidt, brother Karl (age 12) and siblings Allen and Elizabeth in infancy. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband Arthur and family, Larry (Adele), Allison (Matt), Katelyn, Jared and Erin; Dale (Lisa), Ava; Kenneth (Lisa), Andrew and Liam; and Murray (Marla), Dylan and Sarah; as well as many dear friends.
