Obituary for Irene Matilda "Tillly" Morhart (Nagy)

Irene Matilda (Tilly) was born on December 5, 1935, at Endeavour, SK, to Susan (nee Gall) and Steve Nagy. Tilly attended school at Stoney Acre and Endeavour. She married Iver Schwitzer on November 6, 1956, in Stockholm, SK, and they had one son, Ronald Edward, born September 1960 at Esterhazy Hospital. While they lived on the farm near Bangor, Tilly worked at the Morris Lodge and then the legion in Esterhazy. Iver passed away in 1985, and Tilly stayed on the farm for several years. Then she met the love of her life, Mel Morhart, and they were married April 20, 1991, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Melville.

Tilly loved children and started babysitting full-time at their current home in 1992. She loved ice fishing and gardening with Mel and tending to her flowers. Tilly loved baking her Hungarian torte cake for family and friends and reading many books over the years.

Tilly was predeceased by her parents, Susan and Steve Nagy; her first husband, Iver Gordon Schwitzer; siblings Steve, Joe, Gaza and Albert Nagy; sister-in-law Bernice (Bill) Hudy; and brothers-in-law James Morhart, Bill Vargo and George Griggs. She is survived by her husband, Mel; son Ron Schwitzer; siblings Mary Vargo, Mike (Gaetane) Nagy, Louise (Willy) Nagy, Margaret Griggs and Lloyd (Trina) Nagy; sisters-in-law Mary Nagy, Vivian Nagy, Dianne (Richard) Schmidt, Jacqueline Tucker; stepsons Murray Morhart and Barry Morhart; five step-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews and many special friends.
