Darryl C. Francis, age 82, passed away Monday, December 7, 2015 in the hospital in Olds, Alberta after a brief, but courageous battle with cancer.

Darryl was born October 11, 1933, in Whitewood, Saskatchewan, the youngest of seven children to John and Drina Francis. Darryl served the Canadian Navy during the Korean war and returned to Whitewood to operate the ambulance and funeral business from 1966 to 1981. In 1981 Darryl married Audrey Elizabeth Howorth and moved to Courtenay, BC. In 1996 Darryl retired from the funeral industry and moved to Olds, Alberta where he and Audrey have enjoyed family and friends.

Darryl was predeceased by his parents, John and Drina Francis; and by his brothers:
David (Kingston, Ontario); Donald (Whitewood, Saskatchewan); Dudley (Parksville, B.C.); Douglas (Round Lake, Saskatchewan)

Darryl is survived by his wife, Audrey; sister Drina and Des Barton of Calgary; brother Delmer and Gwen Francis of Victoria. He is survived by his children: Lina-Dee (Roland) Andres of Edmonton, Alberta; D. Shawn (Patti) Francis of Sidney, B.C. and Erin (Shelley) Francis of Langley, B.C. and by his step children: Lee (Diana) Ashfield of Whitewood, Sask.; Kim (Craig) Lucyk of Whitecourt, Alberta; Lisa (Shane) Anderson of Calmar, Alberta; Thirteen grandchildren, Five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews throughout Canada.
