Obituary for Norma Phyliss Jacobi (Lang)

Norma Phyliss Jacobi (Lang)
Norma was born on January 25,1923, the second daughter of Olga (Teskey) and Mike Lang. She was raised on the family farm south of Goodeve and attended Robert School with her older sister, Clara and her younger brother, Harold.

On August 6, 1950, Norma married Oscar Jacobi at the Fenwood Baptist Church and the couple began their married life on Oscar’s farm. In l956,their son Howard was born. Norma was a very busy, hard-working woman. Not only did she help Oscar with the grain operation and raising cattle and chickens, she always managed to sow a bountiful vegetable garden as well. Norma loved to cook, bake and did exceptionally beautiful crochet and embroidery work. But most of all, Norma loved people. Visitors were always welcome, many of them staying for weeks at the farm during the summer. Norma was happy with the simple things in life. There was always food on the table and enough for anyone who stopped by. She had a great sense of humour and loved the practical jokes Oscar would play on unsuspecting nieces and nephews.

Norma passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 30,2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Home in Melville. Norma was predeceased by her parents, Mike and Olga Lang; a baby in infancy; her husband, Oscar Jacobi; her sister, Clara Rathgeber; and her brother, Harold Lang. She will be missed dearly by her son, Howard; her sister-in-1aw, Imgard Lang; her nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and all who knew her.
