Joan Audrey Iluk (Swainson)
Audrey Joan Iluk of Melville, at the age of sixty-nine years and ten and a half months, passed away peacefully at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre on January 27, 2011, with her husband and her daughter at her side.Audrey Joan Swainson was born March 3, 1941 on the family farm at Baring, Saskatchewan to Evelyn and Sweenie Swainson. She attended Huntingford Country School, Glenavon School and Marvel School of Beauty in Regina. On November 5, 1960 she married Ernie Iluk at the Anglican Church in Grenfell. Their marriage was blessed with a son (predeceased) and a daughter, Dawn. Because of Ernie's employment with the bank, they lived in various communities throughout Saskatchewan. Glenavon, Bredenbury, Lafleche, back to Bredenbury and since 1974, they made Melville their home. They finally retired in 2007. Joan had many loves. Her family (especially her grandchildren), her garden and flowers, her friends, playing cards (even when she didn't win) the Melville Millionaires and traveling (Hawaii being her favorite destination). In the last 10 years, you would always find her at her favorite spot in the summer, the Cottage at Crooked Lake.Joan was predeceased by her parents Evelyn and Sweenie Swainson; Ernie's parents William and Anne Iluk; and son Minton Dean Iluk in infancy. She leaves to mourn: her husband of fifty years, Ernie: daughter Dawn (Dave) Melnychuk and her precious grandchildren, Tyson and Jai-lyn Melnychuk; sister Ruth (Eugene) Iluk and their children Carla Iluk and Jade (Sylvie) Iluk and their daughter Marguerite; sisters in law Mary (Lawrence) Sluser; Alice (Ralph) Ennis; Anne Iluk and brother in law Mike (Jean) Iluk as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends.We will cherish our memories forever.
