With his family and loved ones by his side, Mike passed away peacefully on January 27, 2008 at St. Paul Lutheran Home in Melville at the age of 83 years.

The son of Frank and Annie (nee Pacholko) Zulyniak, Mike was born on April 27, 1924. He was raised in the Plainview district where he attended school and worked on the family farm. As a young man, he enjoyed his many pets, horses and farm dogs.

On September 29, 1946, Mike married Olga Pillipow and together they worked to build a home and family. They raised twelve children and farmed in the Plainview area until moving to Melville in 1989. Mike continued to enjoy farming while taking care of his garden and yard. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends to play a game of cards and enjoy a few cups of coffee.

As Mike’s health deteriorated he continued to smile and make new friends at the nursing home. He always found time to enjoy an endless number of crib games and to tell a joke to whomever was listening. He loved spending time with his ever-growing family and he especially liked to sit back, join in the conversation and watch the young children play and enjoy life.

Mike was predeceased by his father, Frank Zulyniak in 1966; his mother, Annie (nee Pacholka) Zulyniak in 1987 and his God child, Marlene Trebish (nee Wenet) in 1991. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years, Olga; his twelve children: Sharon (Mervon) Kulasa of Willowbrook, Shirley (Glenn) Steffen, Richard (Verlee) Zulyniak, Ronnie (Sharon) Zulyniak, all of Yorkton, Barry Zulyniak of Ituna, Glen (Ellie) Zulyniak of Yorkton, Gerald (Delilah) Zulyniak, Clifford Zulyniak and Don (Cindy) Zulyniak, all of Melville, Donna (Terry) Pfeifer of Ebenezer, Debbie Orr and Cheryle (Brian) Zulyniak of Melville; twenty-five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Cheryl (Zulyniak) Lutz and son-in-law, Scott Orr; nieces, nephews, friends and relatives. “See you later” to our husband, dad, grandpa, gedo and, most of all, our friend, Mike.
