Obituary for Steve Kerney Osiowy

Steve Osiowy of lemberg passed away Monday, October 29, 2007 at the age of 82 years. On April 22nd,1925, Steve Kerney Osiowy was born to Stephen and Helen Osiowy on the family farm near Lemberg, Sask. He grew up working on the farm with his 14 siblings. On September 24th, 1953, Steve married Gladys Goertz. They lived and worked in the Hodgville and Abernethy areas for a time before moving to the Osiowy Farm in 1956. Steve and Gladys had 4 sons - Ron in 1954, Darrel in 1956, Garry in 1959 and Malcolm in 1962. In 1991 they moved into Lemberg and Garry and family moved onto the farm in 1992. Steve loved gardening, working with wood, and music. He played many instruments but especially liked playing his violin. Steve and Gladys enjoyed visiting with family and friends and would often go for a drive and stop in for a chat along the way. In 2004 Steve lost Gladys to cancer and in the fall of 2006 began having heart problems and passed away on Oct 29th, 2007. Steve will be greatly missed, but we rejoice that he is now in heaven with Jesus whom he loved.

It is with deep sadness that the family wishes to announce the passing of our father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. Steve was predeceased by his wife Gladys (nee Goertz) Osiowy; parents Stephen and Helen (nee Jarotski) Osiowy; brothers Joe, Peter, Stanley and Carl; sisters Mary Mann, Bertha Komarnisky, Lena Tuttle and Helen Janiskewich. Steve leaves to cherish his memory his our sons, Ronald of Regina, Darrell of Penticton, BC, Garry (Sandra) of Lemberg and Malcolm of Melville; thirteen grandchildren, Shawn, Tricia (Carey), Stephan (Bobbie), Sarah (Matt), Melissa Ryan), Diana, Brandon, Heather, Bethany, Christina, Austin, Steven and Jordan; nine great-grandchildren, Jade, Aaliyah, Karissa, Angelina, Thurston, Hanna, Rhea, Alexis and Ava; four brothers, John of Regina, Murray of Vancouver, BC, Walter of Regina and Mike (Hilda) of Surrey, BC; two sisters, Edna Sluz of Creston, BC and Carrie Weber of Burnaby, BC as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
