Mark Gyug passed away peacefully at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina on Thursday, March 21, 2019, at the age of 82 years.
Mark was born in the Cana district on June 6, 1936, to Frank and Dorothy Gyug. He grew up on the family farm and attended St. Anthal School. When Mark quit school, he worked on the farm and at various jobs until he took up farming full-time. Mark lived on his farm in the Cana district until 2004, then moved into Melville. In January 2019 he became a resident at St. Paul Lutheran Home in Melville.
Mark was predeceased by his partner, Donna; his parents and stepmother; brothers Ralph and Robert; and brother-in-law Ken Burak. He is survived by his sisters, Pat Burak, Jeanne (George) Kurtz, Mona (Jerry) Kletchke and Christine (Merv) Bowman; his brothers, Chuck (Bernie), Claude (Dianne), John (Nancy) and Michael; stepbrother Stanley; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives and many good friends.
