Obituary for Albert Jacob Erbach

Albert Jacob was born on the family farm in the Colmer district on June 16, 1925, to Jacob and Katherine (nee Keller) Erbach.

Albert was a hard worker, both on his job with the CNR and on his “Ponderosa”, where he loved to farm, and he very much enjoyed farming with his brother Harold. Not only did he work hard, but he played hard as well, especially when it came to softball. He was an all-star pitcher and struck out batters with his ‘riser’!! Albert didn’t let his age slow him down; he pitched at the Todd Miller memorial tournament when he was 90 years old!!!! Curling was another sport he enjoyed in the winter, going to many bonspiels in the area.

Albert was predeceased by his loving wife, Tillie; his parents, Jacob and Katherine (nee Keller) Erbach; in-laws Charles and Anne Abday; great-granddaughter Lylah Tressel; brothers Walter (in infancy), Donald and Harold; and sisters Lorna (in infancy), Mary Rathgeber and Janet Rehbein. He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory: his children, Lorna Tressel (Ross) and Garth Erbach; grandchildren Celeste (Fred Penner), Aaron (Alicia Catchuk), Haley Erbach and Karson Erbach; great-grandchildren Lowell Sherwin, Darby Sherwin, Sloan Tressel and Haley Penner; brother Gilbert Erback; sisters Violet Weibe, Lydia (Harold) Sastaunik and Lyona Friesen; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
