The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Brian Arkell can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Obituary for Brian Arkell

Brian Eric Arkell, age 54 years, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 19, 2018, at his home in Melville, SK. He was born March 12, 1963, in Peachland, BC, to Kenneth and Lynn Arkell. In 1998 Brian met his spouse, Ann Marie Somerville, and they remained together until his departure.

Brian truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures – chatting with friends and family, snacking and playing on his computer. He had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. Brian’s last job was working at the Melville landfill.

Brian is survived by his spouse Ann Marie; three older brothers, Rob Arkell (Lisa), Ken Arkell (Shara) and Alan Arkell (Lynette); two younger sisters, Betty Laing (Robin) and Teresa Stover (Dave); as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family, friends, and others whose lives Brian touched are welcome to join us in the summer for a celebration of life to reminisce, grieve, support each other and, of course, just chat. Please contact either Ken Arkell at 1-306-730-8128 or Shara Arkell at 1-306-794-3250 for more information on the celebration of life.
