Condolence: Dear Brittany, Kale, and Sarah I am so sad to know of your mom's passing. I know that you will have many days of sorrow and I wish I could be there to wrap my arms around you and give you the hugs that your mom gave to my children when their dad passed away. Your mom and I met when we both lived in Yorkton (around 1990). I remember feeling I had met the most incredible woman. She had survived some difficult years of violence at the hands of others, and yet she appeared to me as such a capable, determined, loving, and empathetic young mom. I always admired her ability to be resourceful with the most basic and minimal supplies. She could always find the humor in any situation; and she was quick to help a friend in need. She loved nature, and all of God's creatures big and small. She was so very creative! She loved her family and was proud of her roots. Your mom lived through some of the most difficult circumstances that life can throw at a person. She shared many of them with me - but I suspect that there are some things that she could never bring herself to admit to her closest friend. But she never gave up trying to be the best person she could be. She often didn’t live up to her high standards, and for that she was truly remorseful. This incredible woman always put on a brave face. She always treasured the gift of a new day. She always saw the silver lining. She always forgave. She always saw the best in people. She always gave: her love, her time, her craft, her beautiful smile. She always persisted. Your mom loved each of you so very much! These wonderful traits have been passed on to each and every one of you. By sharing these gifts with those around you, you will be honoring your mom and her spirit. Love from Shaun
