Obituary for David Cyr

Born July 24, 1951, David was raised on the Gaspé Peninsula. After earning his teaching degree, he met a prairie girl teaching at the same school in Valleyfield, QC. David and Yvonne fell in love and moved to Round Lake, SK in 1973 and it has been home ever since.
After teaching in Saskatchewan for two years, David pursued his interests in carpentry and quickly advanced into construction management. He built everything from schools to retirement homes to grain elevators across the prairies over a 42-year career.
During his free time, David could often be found carving something for family or friends, playing with his grandkids, or sitting on his deck watching the sun set or a lightning storm.
David is survived by his wife Yvonne (nee Grimeau); daughters Shannon (Marty) and Talina (JT); son Adam (Shannon); grandchildren Caleb, Hadley, Claire, Pippa, Jada, and Thorssen; brothers Renaud and Michael; sister Carole; mother-in-law Laura; brothers-in-law Jimmy, Gib, Vic, Fred, Lawrence, Paul, and Chuck; sisters-in-law Constance, Susan, Bonnie, Ramona, Fern, Barb, Brenda, and Rita; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is predeceased by his parents Dorothy and Rodrigue; sister Kathleen; father-in-law Joseph; sister-in-law Naomi; niece Tracy; and nephew Kurt.
Friends so wishing can donate to the Myeloma Canada Research Network (www.myelomacanada.ca) in David’s memory.
