Obituary for Rhienold Helmut Temple

Rhienold was born on the family farm near Goodeve, Saskatchewan on Sunday, October 31, 1937 to Jacob and Mary Temple. He went to Lake Mona School until about grade eight, when he began farming with the family. Rhienold and brother Matt took over the farm in 1966, at which time his parents moved to Melville. Rhienold met Helga in 1979 after her arrival from Germany. They fell in love and were married November 5, 1981. They farmed together until Helga’s untimely death March 27, 1998. Rhienold lived on the farm for another year and then decided to sell and move into Melville.

Rhienold loved having family functions on the old homestead and was especially proud to have nieces and nephews come stay with him for the summers to help out on the farm. In recent years, he spent many hours driving around the countryside by Goodeve checking out the crops. Rhienold especially enjoyed meeting up with friends on coffee row and watching many different sports on television. It was also very important to him to take care of brother Pete’s mail delivery when Pete’s health was failing.

Rhienold was predeceased by wife Helga (Wagner), parents Jacob and Mary (Hollinger) Temple, brothers Peter, Alfred, Matt and Arnold, brothers-in-law George and Allan and sisters-in-law Christine, Helen, Erna and Janet. He is survived by friend Barb, siblings Eleanor (Henry) Bohay, Lydia Bonk and Gladys (Dennis) Mattern, sister-in-law Liesa Temple, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
