Obituary for Marlene Grace Zarusky

Marlene Grace Zarusky
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Marlene Zarusky on Monday, August 3, 2015 at the Whitewood Community Health Center, at the age of 80 years.
Marlene was the loving wife of the late Roman Zarusky. She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Dean (Wanda) Zarusky and her three daughters, Ramona (Garry) Carson, Wanda (Rodney) Simmons and Kendell (Colin) Friess. She will also be remembered by her nine grandchildren, Aaron (Dwayne) Redekopp, Dena Zarusky(Virgil), Carrie Carson (Danny), Brett (Brooke) Carson, Kelly Carson(Joel), Jenna Simmons (Jamie), Sydney Simmons, Jared Friess and Tristan Friess. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, Kayden, Josalyn, Maaia, Rohin, Kirin, Emmett and Maddox.
Marlene served as an ambassador to the Zarusky Clan as Roman’s job in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police took them on various adventures through the Prairies. She was always open minded and accepting of all that came her way and was always willing to help and support any person in need. Perhaps her greatest attribute was how much love she always seemed to have towards every single person and animal that she knew. In the last three years mother has battled dementia, which took a toll on her and the family. Her ‘rock’ Ramona managed to help her smile even at times when this concept seemed so foreign to her. Even through her years with this crippling disease she was able to win over the hearts of all the workers and friends that helped her along this painful journey. There will never be a day that passes that we will not remember “Baba” in one way or another as she was the most unique and loving individual that anyone could meet. She will be greeted in Heaven by loving relatives who are waiting with open arms.
“If flowers grow in heaven,
Lord, then pick a bunch for me.
Then place them in my mother's arms
and tell her they're from me.
Tell her that I love and miss her
and when she turns to smile,
place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for awhile.”
