He leaves behind his cherished stepchildren: Shirly (David), Marie, Anna (Jim), Alfred (Stephanie), Beverly (Woody), Diana (Rick), Cathy, Charles (Evie) and Kenneth (Boris); his beloved grandchildren Matthew, Spencer, Ashlynn, Andrew and Erica. George was predeceased by his mother, Hilma and his father, Anselm; his first wife, Georgina (nee Hildebrandt); his second wife, Vi (nee Brau); and stepdaughter Sheila. George was the youngest of 16 siblings. He was also predeceased by two infant siblings, Sylvia and Arne; sisters Agnes, Lila, Edna, Bertha, Julia, Vivian, Lily and Irene; brothers Bernard, John, William, Toivo and Leonard.

George was born and raised in the New Finland district and later moved to Whitewood where he resided until his passing. He drove for the Leader Post for 36 years with no accidents or traffic tickets. George had a passion for animals; his two best friends, Wakka and Mr. Kitty will miss him dearly. He had many animal visitors over the years that he fed without hesitation.
