Marcy was born August 5, 1949 in Melville, Saskatchewan and raised on the family farm near Grayson, Saskatchewan. After graduating from Sacred Heart High School, she moved to Regina where she met Garry. They were married April 17, 1971 and began their family. As a homemaker she was able to spend much time with her children as they were growing up. She continued this when she became a grandmother by often watching the grandkids or taking them for sleepovers.
Later in life when she was moved into St. Paul Lutheran Home she was still able to get the biggest enjoyment out of family visits. She felt as if she was there as she looked at videos and pictures. Despite all the difficulties and obstacles she had to endure, Marcy was always able to find acceptance and happiness. She will continue to live on as a role model for her family and will be missed by all.
Marcy was predeceased by her husband Garry; father Tony Rieger; infant sister Leona; mother-in-law Molly Temple; and father-in-law Fred Temple.
Marcy will be lovingly remembered by son Grant (Lindsey); daughter Rhonda (Bob) Szautner; grandchildren Ashley, Janelle, Mary, Austin (Megan), Taylor, McKinley and Reid. She will also be remembered by her mother, Eva; sister Sandra (Bruce);brother Conrad (Karen); brothers-in-law Ervin (Audrey), Dennis (Denise); sister-in-law Betty; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
