Obituary for Rosalia "Rose" Ottenbreit

Rose was born on the family farm at Mariahilf. She married Mike Ottenbreit October 25, 1943, and they were married for 66 years.

Rose was a true, genuine, caring mother and farmer’s wife. She and Mike lived on the farm until November of 1986 when they moved into Grayson. There she spent many years of entertaining. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, visiting with family and friends, playing cards and scrabble, and reading the encyclopedia. Family was everything to Rose, especially her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Rose was predeceased by her parents, Jakob and Johanna (nee Exner) Douhaniuk; her husband, Mike; three sisters, Mary Douhaniuk, Betty Szaroz and Anne Boehm; one brother John; and two sons, Dennis and Rein. She leaves to cherish her memory: six children, James (Mary) Ottenbreit of Devon, AB, Ivan (Vicki) Ottenbreit of Grayson, Veronica (Rene) Fendelet of North Battleford, Geralyn (Gary) Schnell of Kannata Valley, Karen (Todd) McCrea of Saskatoon, and Michele (Greg) Happy of Winnipeg, MB; her grandchildren, David (Christie), Ivan (Jodi), Clayton (Gisele), Ryan, Daniel, Naomi, Danielle, Kaitlin, Brandon, Raelene, Owen (Amanda), Molly, Sarah, Chase, Kirste, Carter and Cameron; her great-grandchildren, Declan, Emma, Noah, Karl, Nathan, Jorja, Drew and Carly; her brother, Bill of Salmon Arm, BC; as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives.
