Obituary for Thomas Clifford "Cliff" Taylor

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Thomas Clifford Taylor. We are grateful that he had a long, healthy and active life until the end. He passed away February 18, 2014 at the age of 95 years at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, the city where he resided for the past four and a half years.

Thomas Clifford Taylor was born August 8, 1918 in Fenwood, Saskatchewan. His parents were Samuel Thomas James Taylor born August 2, 1880 in Bracebridge, Ontario and Celia Beatrice Young born December 7, 1882 in Canton, South Dakota. Cliff spent four years in the air force stationed in Sydney, Nova Scotia and Moncton, New Brunswick during World War II as an airplane mechanic. While there he met and married his loving wife, Lois Trenchard and had two sons, Blair and Robert. After the war they spent one year in Fenwood and then moved to Melville where they settled and had three more children, Lloyd, Gary and Diane. Cliff hired on at the CN Rail where he worked for 33 years. He retired in 1981 spending time with his family and enjoying his grandchildren. He could fix anything and rescued us many times with his expertise.

Cliff leaves behind his five children, nine grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren: Blair (Geri), Tiffiny (Jason) and Ty, Kristin (Adam), Robert (Darlene), Stacey (Jim), Robbie, Evan, and Emma, Angela (Aaron), Kieran, Quinn and Eden, Lloyd (Brenda), Carrie (John), Connor and Lauren, Rhea (Jason) and Roen, Gary (Catherine), Lisa (Ian), Diane (Terry), Lori (Don), Nathan, Landon and baby Hadley, Tyler (Beth), Autiana, Audrey and Allison. His beloved wife Lois preceded him in death December 30, 1994 after 51 years of marriage. He was also predeceased by his sister Ada, brothers Lloyd, Jim, and Norman, sisters-in-law Emily and Bertha, brother-in-law Bob and great-grandson Jonathon. He has one surviving sister Mae Anderson of Calabasas, California and one sister-in-law Nellie Taylor of Yorkton.
