Obituary for Elsie Katherine Neuls (Krauschaar)

Elsie Neuls, of St. Paul Lutheran Home, Melville, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 16, 2011 at the age of 94 years.Elsie Katherine Kraushaar was born October 16, 1917 on the family farm north of Fenwood. She was the sixth of ten children born to Valentine and Margaret (nee Goebel) Kraushaar. Elsie was baptized on October 21, 1917 and confirmed on May 24, 1931 at Zion Lutheran Church, Fenwood. Elsie grew up on the family farm and received her education at Fenwood. In 1944 she moved with her parents to Melville where she found employment doing housework. She was later employed at the Co-op creamery. Elsie married John Neuls on July 4, 1954 at Zion Lutheran Church, Melville. After her marriage, she became a housewife and loving mother. Their union was blessed with two children, Sheryl and Bernice. Elsie became a resident of St. Paul Lutheran Home, Melville on February 1, 2008 where she resided until her passing.Elsie enjoyed playing the organ for the German and English church services, both in Fenwood and Melville and she helped out at Vacation Bible school. She loved to garden, crochet, embroider, do word puzzles, read, make preserves and bake. Whenever you visited with Elsie and John, you were always assured of baked goodies. Elsie will be remembered for always being willing to help out wherever help was needed.Elsie was predeceased by her husband, John, in 2004; her parents Valentine and Margaret Kraushaar; sisters and brothers-in-law Elizabeth Kraushaar, Margaret and Fred Schneider, Mary and Ed Gehring, Edith and Joe Hahn and John Miller; brothers and sisters-in-law Jack and Elizabeth Kraushaar, Walter and Hannah Kraushaar, Fred and Minnie Kraushaar and Arnold Kraushaar. She leaves to mourn her passing and to cherish her memory: her daughters and sons-in-law Sheryl and Amos Unyi of Yorkton and Bernice and Tom Gullason of Saskatoon; her sister Clara Miller of Melville; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
