Obituary for
Margaret Rose Ulmer (Mokekly)
Margaret Ulmer, formerly of Neudorf, passed away Sunday, August 29, 2010 at the age of 70 years.Margaret was born on August 7, 1940 with her twin sister Eleanor at Lampman Hospital. They were the second youngest born to Nicholas and Lena (nee Frank) Mokelky. Eleanor passed away during infancy. Margaret attended Lampman School and later moved to Regina where she worked as a nurse’s aide at the General Hospital. She met Alfred Ulmer and they were united in marriage on January 3, 1964. They moved to Neudorf later that year and began their family which was blessed with four children: Morley, Lorrie, Jason, and Rhonda. Margaret’s love was being a homemaker. She loved gardening, cooking, canning, baking and you never left her table hungry. Her freezer and cellar were always full. Other hobbies included playing bingo and cards, sewing, crossword puzzles, reading, puzzles, and casino bus tours. She babysat, did odd jobs around town and also cleaned the Neudorf Health and Social Centre and the Credit Union. She always attended church and was a member of the Neudorf Hall Board and Golden Sunset Club. She always looked forward to Monday night bingo.Family was very important to Margaret and she always kept in touch with each of her siblings. She lived for family gatherings and would always go that extra mile for each family member. Margaret’s pride and joy were her grandchildren. Her face would light up whenever she talked about them and whenever they came to visit. She would always make time to do puzzles and play cards and games with them which Granny mysteriously never seemed to win. As her family grew, she welcomed each one with an open heart and arms. Margaret was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease later in life but she didn’t let it get her down. She did what she could when she could and lived each day to the fullest. She moved into the Roadside Manor in fall of 2004, a place she really enjoyed as there was always someone to visit and play cards with. In October 2009 she moved to Pioneer Lodge in Ituna. Her 70th birthday this year was a wonderful family reunion for her which no one will forget. Margaret passed away on August 29, 2010.Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Alfred in 2002; parents Nicholas and Lena Mokelky; in-laws Peter and Mary Ulmer; siblings Eleanor Mokelky, Tony Mokelky, Mary Keutz, Ralph Mokelky, Nina Reid, Kay Polley and brothers-in-law, Fred Keutz, Bill Donald, Del Reid, Wayne Doyle, Emanuel Yale, Don Polley, Colin Schienbein and Art Schienbein. Margaret leaves to cherish in her memory: son Morley (Paulette); son Lorrie (Tracy) and their children Tashia (Josh), Tiffany, Tyrell, and Tamara; son Jason (Leanne) and their children Braden (Chelsey) and Layne; daughter Rhonda (Lindsay) and their children, Noah and Andrew; her siblings Lena Donald, Anne Yale, Earl Mockelky, Frank (Eileen) Mokelky, John (Dorothy) Mokelky and Louise Doyle; sisters-in-law Norma Schienbein and Ruth Schienbein; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.God saw her getting tired and a cure was not to be. So He wrapped her in His loving arms and whispered, “Come with Me”. She suffered much in silence, her spirit did not bend; she faced her pain with courage until the very end; she tried so hard to stay with us, her fight was all in vain; God took her to His loving home, and freed her from all the pain.
