Shirley May Inkster (Padley)
Shirley May (nee Padley) Inkster passed away peacefully, after a lengthy illness, on December 27, 2007 at 73 years of age. Shirley was born on February 24, 1934 in Kamsack, Saskatchewan to Harry and Elsie (nee Olson) Padley. She married William (Bill) Inkster on October 25, 1950 and settled in Redditt, Ontario until 1953 when the moved to Dauphin, Manitoba. In 1959 their son Gary was born. Bill transferred with the CNR to Melville in 1961 and the family moved to an acreage on the south side of the city. In 1966, their second son, Darcy, was born. Shirley loved being out in the garden, tending to her flowers, vegetables and all the trees they planted. Some of her favourite times were spent curling, camping, travelling and golfing. She cherished her family, especially all her grandchildren who brought much light and joy to her life.
Shirley was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Elsie Padley; a sister, Evelyn, in 1944; a brother, Gilbert, in 1997; and her husband, Bill, on October 23, 2003. Shirley leaves to cherish her memory: son, Gary (Carolyn) Inkster of Melville; son, Darcy (Krista) Inkster of Regina; her grandchildren, Christopher, Cheyenne, Austin, Jacalyn and Sheena; a sister, Aylmer (Wes) Rauchman of Calgary; a brother, Edward of Vanscoy; and numerous other relatives and friends.
